(Pan-Grilled or Oven Baked)
Tender salmon fillets soaked in a bright, savory-sweet marinade made from soy sauce, honey, lemon, and garlic — then grilled to caramelized deliciousness. Perfect for weeknights or light meal prep!
Prep Time: 10 min (minus the optional marinating time)
Cook Time: 10-15 min
Serves: 1-2
Ingredients
1-2 salmon fillets
1 cup soy sauce
2 tbsp honey
2 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 cup water
2 cloves garlic, minced or grated
1 tsp lemon juice (for extra citrus kick)
olive oil (on pan for grilling)
Instructions
Make the marinade:
In a bowl add water, soy sauce, honey, lemon juice, and minced garlic.Marinate the salmon:
Place the raw salmon fillets in the marinade. Make sure the fillets are coated evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, up to 2 hours for more flavor. (Last step is optional)Heat the pan:
Lightly oil pan and grill salmon over medium heat. Cook for about 3–4 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through. Optional: Pour remaining marinade into the pan during the last 1–2 minutes and simmer to form a sticky glaze.OR you can oven bake them at 15 minutes at 400°F instead of grilling.
Serve:
Plate the salmon with your favorite sides. I am eating mine with white rice, kewpie mayo, wasabi, kimchi and avocado on the side.
